For the very first time in New Zealand, Friendly Potential and Auckland Live proudly presents one of the greatest composers in contemporary music, Nils Frahm
Nils Frahm had an early introduction to music, learning the piano throughout his childhood. It was through this that Nils began to immerse himself in the styles of classical pianists from previous generations as well as the music of contemporary composers, before forging his own musical path through composition.
Since his first works in 2009 - Wintermusik and The Bells - Frahm has built a reputation as one of the world’s pre-eminent composers. His unconventional approach to an age-old instrument, played contemplatively and intimately, and on a mesmerising scale through his vast stage shows, has won him many fans around the world.
Culminating in his critically lauded opus, 2018’s All Melody [“his masterpiece” Mixmag 9/10 Album Of The Month] Frahm has gained global notoriety for his highly developed sense of control and restraint in his work, as well as a breath-taking level of emotion and personality. Today Nils Frahm continues to work as an accomplished composer, producer and celebrated performer from his Berlin-based studio at the renowned Funkhaus.
Over the past five years Friendly Potential has been responsible for bringing some the best in electronic music to New Zealand and have built a reputation for thoughtfully presenting modern dance music in a club setting.
It gives us great pleasure to now branch out to a concert environment and to do so with one of the greatest composers in contemporary music is a very special honour.
Join us this November for a very special concert inside Auckland Town Hall’s majestic Great Hall - Nils Frahm - live in concert.
