NZ Cemeteries & Crematoria Week

Karori Cemetery, second largest in New Zealand, is Wellington's largest heritage site. On Tues 5 November and Thursday, 7 November there will be free guided walking tours of parts of the cemetery.

Setting off from the Main Chapel, Rosehaugh Avenue at 10.30am the tours will be 1.5 -2 hours duration. Easy walking, sometimes on uneven surfaces, not suitable for those with mobility issues. Lots of free parking available. No. 3 bus stop nearby.

Children most welcome, and good dogs, on leads. Come along and learn about those buried here, stories ranging from the great and good through to the ordinary everyday people amongst the 85,000+ for whom Karori Cemetery is the final resting place.
