Join Ocean Youth for a day of intertidal discovery! Ocean Youth has teamed up with Marine Metre Squared to run a citizen science experience at Kohimarama Beach. Qualified marine biologists will lead the charge through the rocky shore - introducing the animals that live there, providing insight into the day-to-day lives of the intertidal communities as well as demonstrating how we can all collect valuable data from our local shorelines.
This event is perfect for 12-18 year olds who are interested in learning more about the marine environment, are passionate about conservation, keen to meet like-minded people - or who simply love our beaches.
Following the shore excursion, ticket holders are invited to attend a data entry session at SEA LIFE Kelly Tarlton's. This session completes the citizen science experience - having collected and shared the valuable data from our local rocky shore. Tickets holders that have attended the data entry session are welcome to find even more inspiration within SEA LIFE Kelly Tarlton's with free entry to the attraction!
Participants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Entry to SEA LIFE Kelly Tarlton's is only permitted for ticket holders that have attended both the shore excursion and data entry session - entry only valid on the 16/02/2019.
