October's programme starts with the fabulous Open Mic session from 4pm - poets and musicians welcome. From about 5pm we introduce our guest performers - first the musicians Watching Dolphins, followed by poet Arihia Latham.

Watching Dolphins is the Wellington-based duo of singer, songwriter and guitarist Nigel Parry and violinist Ruth Prentice. Together they weave a lyrical mix of originals and covers that draws in their audience. Of them, The Balladeer wrote, "Ruth’s melodic violin under-pinned Nigel’s finely crafted songs perfectly". Arihia Latham is of Ngāi Tahu Māori, English, Irish and Dutch descent and lives in Wellington.

She is a facilitator, writer and rongoā practitioner. Her writing has been published in Huia short story collections, Oranui and Landfall journals, and online on the Poetry Shelf and Awa Wāhine.

The programme is free entry.
