We have a spectacular line up of 6 short films this year including 3 from Tonga, One Australian & the rest from New Zealand but all with their Tongan crew or subjects and actors also Tongan.
We are excited to share this dynamic collection of films.
PACIFIC LINES
Angie Scarth-Johnson travels to ‘Eua – an island in the Kingdom of Tonga, with two objectives: to connect to a side of her family she previously knew little about, and to evolve her climbing career from climbing hard grades, to developing new routes. Angie sets out to explore her past, and the possibilities of route development in Tonga
WATER HOUSE
A story about motherhood, Back in the Water House follows mother-daughter artists Suliet Fieme’a Burrows and Tui Emma Gillies as their relationship is further strengthened by
tapa - a Tongan traditional cloth made from the inner bark of a mulberry tree.

THE WORLD IN YOUR WINDOW
Eight-year-old Jesse lives in a twilight world of sadness and silence, squeezed into a tiny caravan with his grief stricken father. They’re in limbo, existing more than living. The child intuitively understands that looking forward is harder than looking back, and that’s where life happens. But they are stuck, until an accidental friendship with a V8 driving Transsexual unlocks the means for Jesse to liberate his father and himself.

MINI MARKETS
This year we would also like the chance to showcase a few local Tongan entrepreneurs as well by having a "mini" markets and invite 4 small business owners of custom made Tongan crafts to show & sell their wares before the screenings of the films.
