People Library: Ben Elms (Dr Compost)

The Festival of Colour's People Library is a way to 'borrow' a range of clever people with expert knowledge of particular topics. Borrow Dr Compost (Ben Elms) for 20 minutes and enjoy his insight into composting and bio-dynamics.

Ben Elms has been living in the unusual sub-alpine/mediterranean climate of Central Otago for over 20 years. Some of Ben's hats include permaculture designed orchards, lifestyle block design, one on one mentoring, hands-on workshops, the Dr Compost education program and writing for national and regional newspapers and gardening magazines. Feel free to quiz him on things such as veggie gardening, composting, soil building, fruit trees, pruning, permaculture design and landscape design with a food focus. He dreams of every back yard, verge and park being a lush edible landscape!
