Queenstown Writers Festival Presents: Poetry Workshop with Liz Breslin
Celebrated local poet and tutor Liz Breslin will lead a poetry workshop for people interested in crafting poems that will work on the page and when read aloud. Liz’s workshops are known for being fun, lively, supportive and suitable for all levels of experience.
Bring a poem that you’ve written and would like to take to the next level, or take this opportunity to create something completely new. This workshop will also give you skills, structures and confidence for your future writing. Numbers are limited to 15.
Liz Breslin writes plays, stories, reviews, articles and a column for the Otago Daily Times. Her first collection of poems, Alzheimer’s and a Spoon, was published in 2017 and listed as one of the New Zealand Listener’s Top 100 Books. Her poems are journalled in Landfall, the Café Reader, Takahē, Bravado, Poetry NZ Yearbook and other places in New Zealand and overseas.
Her recent performances include Verb Wellington’s Litcrawl, Dunedin Writers & Readers Festival, WORD Christchurch and a tour of bars, bookshops and a fairy-lit skatepark in BC, Canada. She is currently a UNESCO City of Literature writer in residence in Krakow, Poland, and otherwise lives in Hawea Flat.
