Join Shelley Simpson for this specialised portrait drawing course which includes all materials.
Human faces are among the most classic of artistic subjects. Learn to draw those around you. The course tailors to all skill levels, giving students new ways to draw the face, demonstrating basic approaches for beginners and offering stimulating exercises for those with some experience. With practice, anyone can master this art. Beginning with a look at the anatomy of a human face, the course explores different portrait techniques.
We will draw from a live model in some of the later classes.
Materials: All pencils, paper etc are provided for this course. If you decide you wish to continue with this art practice at home, your tutor will give advice on types of pencils, paper, charcoal, inks etc. Please bring a reference photograph to the second class. During the first class we will look at an example photograph as a guide.
Who should attend? Those completely new to drawing, or those with some experience drawing. Shelley will offer a range of approaches to portrait drawing that will provide extension for those who can already draw.
Our mission: To provide quality adult and lifelong learning opportunities which empower individuals in their personal lives and as members of society.
