Pt Ronu Majumdar is a world class flute player. He travels the world performing both Indian classical and folk music plus works with other international artists globally.

He has performed a number of times in Auckland to packed hall audiences.

He will perform at Shri Ram Mandir Community Centre, 11 Brick Street Henderson with his younger son Hrishikesh Majumdar accompanying him on flute and Auckland's budding musician Prashant Kumar will accompany him on Tabla on Saturday 9th March 2019 from 7.30 pm Vegetarian dinner has been included in the ticket.

Pt Majumdar has worked with my international artists such as Ry Cooder & John Hassels for albums like Fascinoma, Hollow Bamboo, Lady Astride the Tiger, Hollywood movie ‘Primary Colours.’ His other international collaborations include Lary Coryell, Michael Stipe, Robbie Williams, and George Harrison.

He played in many Bollywood movies as well. He started his Bollywood journey in the year 1981 with the help of R.D. Burman. Late D.M Tagore, was Ronu Majumdar godfather who took him to R D Burman for whom Pt. Ronu became a part of each and every song until his last breath. He shared a close association with Gulzar, Kishore Da, Asha Bhosale, Khayyam, during his Bollywood journey. He has also performed with Lata Mangeshkar in many memorable songs, Pt. Jasraj, Kishori Amonkar, Kishan Maharaj, Baaba Maal, Shankar Mahadevan, Ustad Sultan Khan, and Pt. Bhimsen Joshi. He has also made popular albums “Ethereal Rhythms” and “Heart to Heart” with Zakir Hussain, and much more are to come in Ronu Majumdar journey. He has also been associated with Vishal Bhardwaj for film “Maachis”.
