Tõku Reo Charitable Trust proudly presents to you Pub Koaea.

Join us, two awesome song masters and 99 waiata lovers and reo speakers in a pub to learn the melodies and harmonies of a waiata Māori in just 90 minutes, then pull it all together to perform a masterpiece (Like you favourite Kapa haka's choral, or, like sister Mary Clarence and the nuns from Sister Act).

No auditions required, no sheet music to read, just show up, grab a drink, relax and simply sing what comes naturally to you. Te reo Māori will be the language that flows in the whare on the night.

Ngā Tikanga
1). We are creating a reo Māori domain, a place that encourages the use of reo Māori. That means for this event no reo Pākehā is to be spoken inside the pub. If you desperately need to use reo Pākehā please step outside.

2). Sing loud and be proud. Whether you have a voice like the famous manu tīoriori Maisey Rika, or can't hold a tune.

3). This is a ticketed event with limited spaces. You must bring your ticket with you.

4). Look after one another.

When: Friday 31st May 2019, 5:30 pm doors open.
Where: St Johns Bar & Restaurant, Waterfront, 5 Cable Street Wellington
