In South Hagley Park, on Saturday 16th Feb. We will be holding our annual Come and Try day! This is one of your only opportunities to come and experience the magic of quidditch.

Your coaches, Emma and Mark, from Melbourne, Australia are excited to be sharing their 8 years of experience in the sport.

This day is for people of all levels, whether you are curious and want to try quidditch for the first time, or are a seasoned veteran and have been to every camp, tournament and World Cup this international community has to offer.

Here is a rough run down of the days events:
9am-9.30am - Meet at Hagley Park, warm up games and stretches.
9.30am-12am - The Basics of Quidditch, drills, skills and rules.
12am-12.30am - Now that you’ve learnt the basics, you are now ready to play Quidditch Games!
12.30am-1.30pm - Lunchtime.

1.30pm-3pm - (Optional event) Kids Quidditch. Emma will be teaching everyone the basics of how to run your own quidditch team and set up a team. Children from local high schools and primary schools will be invited along to participate.

1.30pm-3pm - (Optional Event) Quidditch discussion. Mark will be hosting a discussion on the development side of quidditch. He will be answering questions and expanding your view of quidditch by elaborating on the amazing events you can see around the world.

3.30pm-5.30pm - Afternoon Training session. This session will aim to replicate a proper National league training session of the New Zealand National Team the Black Brooms. Giving you the skills and tricks to take your quidditch to the next level.

The cost of the entire day of events is $10 to be paid in cash at the beginning of the day. This is to cover costs of fields and equipment.

Please bring some clothes to run around in, a water bottle and some lunch. All other equipment will be provided.

Optional gear also includes cleats, a mouth guard and a black/white/yellow/green headband.

You must be 16+ to participate in all day events since quidditch is a full contact sport. If you are under 18 years of age, please bring a signed permission slip with additional contact details from your legal guardian giving permission for you to participate.

Can’t make it for the whole day? No problem! We will be holding a shorter 2 hour “Come and Try”. Session at Ray Blank Park on Sunday 17th February.
