Learn further techniques of raranga maori weaving with Anna Gorham, taking home your own Pikau-Backpack after this weekend workshop.
You will learn how to identify harakeke for weaving backpacks & baskets and the process of preparation for harakeke. You will also learn basic Te Reo around weaving, a karakia and waiata.
Please bring your own lunch, a sharp knife, a butter knife and 10 clothing pegs (the ones that you can squeeze open). Please also bring a toggle for the handle of the Pikau eg. Paua shell/driftwood
If you wish to stay at the Marae on Friday or Saturday night. Koha of $10/night requested. Please let us know!
