Colours are on the agenda at Auckland Clef Music Club’s October Concert—specifically red, blue and white and our Performers have been tasked with finding items that feature one or all of these colours in the title, the lyrics, or the general subject matter on which the music is based. There’s bound to be plenty of interesting variety.
Our Clef Club Performers this month are:
- Anthony Blaschke — bass baritone
- Timothy Burrell — baritone
- Malcolm Campbell — baritone
- Barbara Hawthorn — poet
- Cindy Jonker — mezzo soprano
- Fay McNeil — soprano
- Anne Shanks — soprano
The evening will commence with the Club’s Annual General Meeting followed by a short interval and then the Concert. Our AGM is never a lengthy affair and non-Member visitors wishing to attend the Concert should note that they are most welcome to enter the venue and sit in on the AGM until the Concert starts.
The Concert, as usual, will conclude with a generous supper—all included in the $10 ticket-price.
Clef Club’s concerts are held at the Fickling Centre venue, occurring from February through to November — normally on the third Tuesday of the month. (You can always check our blogspot http://clefclub.blogspot.co.nz for details.) For those keen on hearing mainly classical vocal and instrumental music on a regular basis and at reasonable cost, this is the place for you!
All newcomers are welcome, either as members, or on a casual basis and, of course, new singers and instrumentalists are especially welcome to augment our pool of Performing Members. Our 2019-2020 Season Subscription commences in October, so this an ideal time to come along and see what we’re about, before joining for the new Season.
