Rewanui Forest Park Open Day

Located only 15 minutes east of Masterton, on your way to Castlepoint & Riversdale beach.

Come to Rewanui Forest Park for a fun family day outdoors with lots of activities for everyone to enjoy.

Guided and self-guided walking tours will be running. Take a walk with an experienced guide along some of the Rewanui loop walks and learn a little about exotic and native trees:
-Totara Loop (approx 45mins): an easy walk through beautiful native bush including some of our biggest and oldest Totara trees.

- Matai Loop (approx. 90mins): A slightly more challenging walk through stunning native bush, with some steeper sections but you will be rewarded by visiting some big trees and lovely views.

- Side-by-side 4 wheel-drives will be available to take passengers to the Mt Clyde Trig - stunning panoramic views of the Wairarapa!

It will be a great day for the kids with pony rides, a logging truck will be on display, forestry and wood working displays, sheepdog demonstrations, pest control display and a sausage sizzle run by Whareama Primary School.

The 334 hectare Rewanui Forest Park is one of the best lowland forests in the Wellington region. Rewanui combines areas of bush, open grassland and commercial plantations of both native and exotic species.
