Riverside Market Opening Celebration

The Riverside Market on Oxford Terrace in the heart of the city has opened its doors and is a feast for the eyes... and the stomach!

To celebrate the market is having a grand opening on Saturday 5 October with formalities at 10am taking the form of speeches from Mana Whenua, Mayor Lianne Dalziel and Minister of Energy and Resources Dr Megan Woods. These will be followed by a day of family activities including a petting zoo, face painting and local DJs playing from the level 1 balcony stage.

There are over 60 stalls and food outlets at the market owned and operated by local Cantabrians with a huge range of delicious products including; ready-to-eat food covering all corners of the world, fresh produce and eggs, cheese monger, bakeries, coffee, juices and kombucha, a delicatessen and a full working fish-monger and butchery! And for treats there are; donuts, cookies, sweets and Turkish delight!
