The only comedy show with nothing off limits returns. Roast Battle is back in Christchurch after taking a sell out Dunedin and Hamilton Fringe by storm. And this time it's hot. It's sizzling. It's succulent. You better believe it's our third Sunday Roast! It's Labour Weekend, so you can make a night of it (and yes, the show will be over before the rugby starts with time to spare!).

Eight brave stand up comics compete in a match of wit and insults: it's competitive insult comedy. The comics compete onstage while adhering to the three golden Roast Battle rules: original material only, no physical contact, and every battle ends with a hug. With no joke off-limits, anything can happen.

Each battle is simple: two comedians take turns throwing their best roasts at each other, and a panel of pro judges decide the winner of the war of the words. After three rounds of elimination, we crown that night’s Roast Battle champion. Your roastmaster will be Angel Jordan (@jordyce) with a lineup of competitors from across New Zealand. Insults will fly, and not even the audience is safe, so thick skin is mandatory.

'This show was not for the light-hearted. Everyone and their dead Dad gets insulted in this fierce, no-holds-barred evening of roast.' – What’s Up NZ

'Jordan instantly builds a rapport with the audience, throwing off hecklers and vying up the hype with the audience before each round.' – What’s Up NZ
