This two hour workshop will provide a peek into the world of Rongoā Rākau; Traditional Māori Plant Medicine. We will explore a selection of native plants and discuss key philosophies, principles and processes of Rongoā Māori.
There will be an opportunity to taste a remedy and to make a balm suited to the colder months that call in the rise of Matariki - the Māori New Year.
Emma Haslam is of Ngai Te Rangi and Ngati Hauā descent and has worked supporting Donna Kerridge in her Rongoā Māori Practice for the past 6 years. She has also trained with prominent Rongoā Māori experts Rob McGowan and Atarangi Muru. Emmas’ passion for Rongoā Māori is unrelenting. She is competent in the arts of karakia, Māori bodywork and plant medicines.
