Sandringham Street Festival 2019: POSTPONED

POSTPONED.

Regrettably, Auckland Transport has vetoed the Sandringham Street Festival, which has been held on the same Saturday every year for over 20 years.

Auckland Transport has stated that due to events at Eden Park (which do not start until 1:30pm and main games start after 5pm), as well as a cruise ship visit & concert at Mt Smart (we struggle to understand the relevance of the latter 2).

Members of the local board (Glenda Fryer and Jessica Rose) have been very supportive and endeavored to reason with Auckland Transport to no avail.

Due to the difficulty in moving pre-booked rides, entertainers, stalls and bands at short notice the event has been postponed. We will be working to find an alternative date which we can deliver the best possible experience to the community. We hope to find an alternative date int he next month, and this will likely be in the first quarter of 2020.

Sorry to disappoint! Any businesses who have pre paid for space at the festival will be refunded.
