Scene Two 2019

In 2017 a group of artists with connections to local theatre got together and created an exhibition in the Hastings Community Arts Gallery called ‘Scene@Play’.

The success of this exhibition that showcased the diverse talents of the group, and the enthusiasm of the participants, meant that we had to promise to do it again. So we have.

Once again we are fortunate that a number of people from outside of our initial group have asked to be able to participate.

We are delighted that such a wide range of high quality work has been submitted by this multi-talented group of thespian visual artists. Not all of the people involved actually perform on stage, but they still have connections with the theatre in one way or another and as such are part of our valued theatre community.

We hope you enjoy this exhibition and continue to support and encourage these artists in their creativity and in their theatre connections.

Artists involved are Stephanie Drew, Lyn Johnson, Neil McCorkell, Verona Nicholson, Jacqui Thomas, Mark von Dadelszen, Jean McGavock, Faith Tough, Linda Carmichael and John Chalmers. Their works include Oamaru stone sculpture, turned wood, furniture, paintings, pastels, mosaics and a range of exciting mixed media works.
