School Holiday Events

Journey to the Library and Community Hub to explore your wildest imagination these school holidays! Events are aimed at school-aged tamariki and their whānau unless otherwise specified. All events are free. All resources provided.

All holidays, weekdays
10am-4pm, Sport and Play Trailer - Get playful with a variety of games and sports equipment for you and your whānau to use!

Sunday 6 October
1pm-3pm, Bring the whānau to watch a movie in the Library.
2pm-4pm, Make amazing LEGO® builds at the Library! (Ages 5+)

Monday 7 October
11am-12pm, Get creative and make amazing K’nex creations. (Ages 6-12)
1pm-3pm, Learn the basics of knitting! (Ages 7+)

Tuesday 8 October
10am-12pm, The Magic of Science - Investigate small things using our digital microscopes! (Ages 7+)
1pm-3pm, Create and cast creepy shadow puppets to make a spooky story! (Ages 5+)

Wednesday 9 October
10am-11am, Minute to Win It - Challenge your mates or the clock!
1pm-4pm, Control our hydraulic arm and build your own simple hydraulic device. Limited spaces. (Ages 10+)

Thursday 10 October
11am-12pm, Rest and relax with your tamariki and go on a guided tour through your imagination! (Ages 5+)
1pm-2pm, Tech for Kids - Part One - Get hands-on tech experience and be on your way to hacking the future. Limited spaces. (Ages 9+)
2pm-3pm, Can you make square bubbles? Let’s find out! (Ages 5+)

Friday 11 October
11am-12pm, Avoid board-om by challenging your friends to a game of gutter board! (Ages 10+)
1pm-2pm, Tech for Kids - Part Two - Get hands-on tech experience and be on your way to hacking the future. Limited spaces. (Ages 9+)
2pm-4pm, Design, decorate and take home your own library bag! (Ages 5+)

Saturday 12 October
11am-2pm, Wicked Wheels - All wheels welcome from bikes to prams or try some of ours. Bike rodeo, activities & prizes. For more info, go to facebook.com/lovewainuiomata. (All ages)
2pm-4pm, Challenge yourself and your friends in a variety of Xbox games! Spaces are limited (Ages 13+)
