To connect with Semiconductor and Eva Rothschild’s shared exhibition themes of time and space, we present 2001: A Space Odyssey—one of the most influential of all sci-fi films.

An imposing black structure provides a connection between the past and the future in this enigmatic adaptation of a short story by revered sci-fi author Arthur C. Clarke. Director Stanley Kubrick's landmark 1968 epic pushes the limits of narrative and special effects toward a poetic meditation on technology and humanity.

When Astronaut Dr. David Bowman, along with four companions, are sent on a mysterious mission, their ship's revolutionary computer system, HAL 9000, begins to display increasingly strange behaviour, leading to a tense showdown between man and machine that results in a mind-bending trek through space and time.
