Ports of Auckland’s SeePort Festival is a three-day celebration of Auckland City’s beautiful waterfront and rich maritime heritage. The family-friendly festival is one of New Zealand’s largest free events, returning in 2019 for its sixth year of seaside fun.
We invite you behind the red fence over Auckland Anniversary weekend to check out the port from land, sky or sea as Captain Cook Wharf is transformed into a bustling summer festival. Carnival rides, boat sailings, helicopter rides, delicious food, virtual-reality, simulators, tours, music and entertainment on and off the water – little and big kids will be spoilt for choice!
A festival unlike any other; lap up the opportunity to watch dancing tug boats, explore robotic machinery and uncover the inner-workings of some magnificent vessels including the HMNZS Canterbury and the William C Daldy (one of the oldest steam tugs in the world!).
With so much happening on the water, don’t forget to look up - the Royal New Zealand Navy Seasprite, Auckland Rescue and New Zealand Police Eagle will take to the skies overhead in impressive air shows and displays.
As the sun sets on day two, the stage plays host to the renowned Auckland Symphony Orchestra and iconic New Zealand vocalists; The Lady Killers. Stick around until the end for a spectacular fireworks finale!
Sun and sea are the perfect mix for a long weekend, and best of all it's mostly free! Check out seeport.co.nz to see what’s on. #SeePortAKL
