So much of what is happening in politics and socially right now parallels what is contained within Shakespeare’s plays. With this in mind, the ‘new takes’ on the works of the Bard are easy for the young people to portray in their scenes in Shakespeare Globe Centre New Zealand’s University of Otago Sheilah Winn Shakespeare Festivals (SGCNZ UOSWSF).
In their 5 and 15 minutes scenes, they re-envisage the aggressors, the megalomaniacs, the despots, the abusers, the meek and many more identifiable personalities. Groups from schools and Homeschoolers throughout the Wellington region will perform in the SGCNZ Wellington UOSWSF 2019.
