Shakespeare Dancing Toes: Dance Holiday Programme

A One Day Course for 10-14 yr olds

Spend the day with our expert choreography team including Pop-up Globe’s show choreographer Brigid Costello working a range of physical activities designed for the Shakespearean actor’s toolkit.

This one day workshop is perfect for young performers aged 10-14 keen to develop their movement skills on the outdoor Jacobean stage. This workshop covers a mix of physical conditioning, character movement, renaissance dance, choreography skills and putting it all together into a dance sequence to for you to master by the end of the day.

Information on the facilitator

Brigid Costello has been the Director of Movement here at Pop-up Globe from seasons 2-4 and was the co-director of The Taming of the Shrew. She is a dance and theatre professional with specialist skills in teaching yoga and barre.

Brigid danced with the Royal New Zealand Ballet for a number of years before hanging up her pointe shoes to study theatre, media and teaching at Victoria University and now works with a wide range of theatre companies as a choreographer, director and performer.

She is a yoga teacher who have obtained her RYT200 certification in Ubud, Bali.
