Learn vital costume design techniques from our highly specialised team with in depth of knowledge of the Jacobean period, and first hand experience of working at Pop-up Globe.

With costumes being the centrepiece of all Pop-up Globe productions, our wardrobe team will share expert skills on how bring characters to life through exciting designs and vibrant colours to make costumes pop on stage.

We will take you through all aspects of the design process in relation to Shakespearean Costume, including:
Research techniques
How to break down a script
Colour theory
Designing for different spaces and lighting
Character breakdown

Practical elements will include how to draw figures freehand and how to render your designs. Your tutor will share tricks to get proportions right, and how to whip up a design anytime, anywhere.

With VIP access to the Pop-up Globe wardrobe department, you will be able to see how our costumes are taken from the page to the finished piece. This course is taught by Pop-up Globe’s Head of Wardrobe Chantelle Gerrard.
