Shirley De Luca; Recent Works

Enjoy the recent paintings of Shirley De Luca which will be on display in the CAN foyer for the month of July.

Since retiring Shirley has had the time to renew her childhood passion, progressing from pencil to paintbrush. At the moment she is enjoying painting colourful women surrounded by flora.

Originally from Hamilton of farming parents and the eldest of five children, Shirley’s favourite childhood pastime was to draw. School and the need for her to work on the farm with her father who was unwell, left little time to pursue this passion, however every spare minute was spent drawing or reading.

Shirley paints at her Napier Hill cottage, and with Helen Dynes’ painting group at Creative Arts Napier.
