Come draw with us!

From 22nd September to 27th October we are running 'Sketchy Sunday' open drawing sessions alongside The Inktober Show held here at The Arts Village.

It's free to come along, BYO materials (if you forget your materials we will have a small selection of bric-a-brac drawing supplies you can use during the session if needed).

These are not 'taught' sessions and you can draw what you like - although drawings done in response to Inktober drawing prompts can be added to The Inktober Show exhibition walls at the end of each session.

These sessions will be held in Herbert's Room and are open to everyone - we hope to see you along.

What is Inktober?
Inktober is an amazing global arts challenge started in 2009 by Jake Parker as a challenge to improve inking skills and develop positive drawing habits. The challenge now happens annually with artists all around the world each creating 31 drawings over 31 days from a list of official prompts provided by Jake.

Inktober rules:
- Make a drawing in ink (you can do a pencil under-drawing if you want).
- Post it (Post it on any social media account you want or just post it on your refrigerator. The point is to share your art with someone)
- Hashtag it with #inktober and #inktober2019
- Repeat

We absolutely love this project and would love to see more of our amazing local talent on board!
Our special thanks to Rotorua Energy Charitable Trust who provide invaluable funding to The Arts Village to help do cool projects like this one.
