Splash Break-Away is a free holiday programme that is funded by Oranaga Tamariki.

The programme is strictly for 11-17year olds which focuses on water safety in particular the 15 drowning prevention competencies.

We do this by educating our Tamariki on:
- 4Rs bystander Rescues
- Lifejacket Safety
- Safe Boating in collaboration with Coastguard Boating Education
- Safe Kai Moana gathering (snorkelling in the pool environment)
- Beach safety (simulating open water experiences)
- Swimming lesson each day
- Range of aquatic & land-based games

*Each day focuses on a different water safety activity.

Splash provides opportunities for kids to have a go in aquatic sports, to improve their water safety knowledge and skills, while enhancing their swimming ability.

It is an inclusive and friendly environment where confidence is built and kids are encouraged by experienced instructors. Attend all fours days and receive a Splash Break-Away certificate along with a Safe Boating Programme certificate.

*Free lunch is provided each day. Please pack extra snacks, and a water bottle.

If your child has any special dietary needs please pack their lunch for them.

Please note, one participant per registration. It is important that your child attends for all four days of the programme. If for any reason your child cannot attend leading up to the programme please email: splash@dpanz.org.nz to notify the team leader so they can give the spot to someone on the waiting list.

To see more on what your child will be taught visit out e-learning platform and register for free.
