Experience a day on ‘The Family Farm’ at Mangarara Station, meet the farmer, help feed the calves and hens, collect eggs and experience farming and nature working together.

Here at Mangarara – The Family Farm we are passionate about our animals, people, biodiversity and farming’s role in helping mitigate climate change using Regenerative Agriculture methods.
All of these things are dependent on SOIL – so we are even more passionate about SOIL!

Join Greg and Tim for a Walking Farm Tour, feeding calves, hens, collecting eggs, and experience farming and nature working together. Enjoy great insights and conversation on the way.

Come back to the Mangarara Eco-Lodge where you will have the opportunity to meet Mark – The Clive Butcher while he demonstrates the fine art of butchering. Learn about Food Forests & Permaculture with Jo Duff from Kahikatea Farm, and more good SOIL stuff with Regenerative Agriculture Nerds (like us!) Along with other local passionate food producers and plenty of fun for the children.

Relax by Horseshoe Lake and interact with Farmers and Friends, enjoy local wine, Kombucha or a Brave Beer and savour slow-cooked free-range Mangarara pork, cooked over hot coals on ‘Golliath’, and finish off with delicious ice cream. Bring your wallets for lunch.

Come experience, explore, taste, learn and relax!

Bring your gumboots or good farm footwear, a hat, sunscreen and your wallet for a delicious lunch.
