Storytime Character Hunt

Join the hunt for real live storybook characters at Whangarei Central Library.

Gather before 10.​30 am to pick up a game card to join in this exciting hunt. Then search the nooks and crannies of library to find your favourite storybook characters. Get each character to complete your game-card and be into win prizes.

The Parade.
All children who have been hunting for characters are invited to join a storybook character parade just after 12 noon.

Meet guest author Heather Haylock of the the Granny McFlitter series, who will be signing copies of her books.

All children under 11 years attending this event must be accompanied by an adult.

The New Zealand Book Awards for Children and Young Adults have celebrated annually with events and activities that bring books alive for young readers of all ages. The awards promote the importance of books and reading and provides inspiration for New Zealand’s future writers and illustrators.
