String Bean Puppets

String Bean Puppets is a Wellington puppet company dedicated to sharing the wonder and magic of puppetry. Anna Bailey is a travelling puppeteer – she has performed extensively overseas at street, puppet, children’s theatre and fringe festivals.

Anna performs intimate and lyrical string puppet shows, such as 'The Mermaid’s Song'. A whimsical adventure for the whole family emerges from a well-travelled suitcase and a fishing trip takes a magical turn when the lonely fisherman reels in a mermaid. Another enchanting performance is 'Once in a Full Moon' – in the New Zealand bush a kiwi finds the biggest egg in the world. If only he could get it into his nest! Anna transforms spaces into magical worlds, surprising and delighting the unsuspecting public. Her performances are enjoyed by all ages from pre-schoolers to adults. FREE – no ticket required.
