In this course you will be guided through the traditional techniques of lacquer art with artist Han Nae Kim. Create your own lacquer brooch with Paua (motherof-pearl) inlay and come away with a unique piece of wearable art of your own design.
Lacquer has been practiced for centuries predominantly in the East Asian countries of China, Korea and Japan. Lacquer is considered socially, symbolically and aesthetically complex and its utmost interpretation engages all five senses of sight, smell, taste, sound and touch.
