This workshop will give you the opportunity to get creative in an inspiring and relaxed environment. The focus is to experiment and explore natural processes that include elements such as tea, rust, flowers, leaves etc. slowly building up layers of marks and textures on fabrics and paper.
Day 1
I am going to show you a variety of rust making techniques such as bundling/wrapping, spraying and the 1 2 3 rust method. These will be done on fabrics, such as cotton, linen, silk and paper.
Day 2
After spending some time outside, foraging for small objects to include in your work, I will demonstrate basic mono print techniques, flower beating and simple stitch techniques before you start building up layers of marks on your rusted pieces.
Materials and tools are provided, more information will be sent out closer to the date.
