Taiapa Road Soul Band is a seven piece, New Zealand covers band that recreates the very best of Soul, Funk, R&B and Disco dance hits from Motown like…”Your Love is Lifting Me Higher, Dancing in The Streets, Heat Wave, Get Down On it, Superstition” and many more. Music that helped to influence dance music as we know it today.
The sizzling hot Taiapa Road Soul Band always brings ‘the party’ to any party and we’re excited to be coming to Barcode.
Our band is proudly made up of some of the best local and international musical talent on the Auckland music scene.
Lead Male Vocals /Guitar / Percussion
George is a power vocalist and frontman with amazing ability. Hailing from Queensland, Australia. George is a hugely experienced vocalist/musician, having performed in USA, Korea and now New Zealand. His professional stage presence draws in any audience.
Lead Female Vocals
Nicki’s vocal ability is astounding and will have audiences eyes fixed on her as they enjoy her unique and huge vocal range. Nicki has performed and recorded in Indonesia, Sweden and Australia. Small in stature but large in stage presence.
Lead Guitar /Vocals
Reg is best known in the music scene as a bassist. In Taiapa Road, he’s the band’s lead guitarist. Reggie’s guitar hero’s include George Benson, Paul Jackson Jnr, Earl Klugh, Sanata, Angus Young and you’ll hear his blended style and vocal harmonies come through.
Bass Guitar /Vocals
Steve is a multi-talented and well respected bassist / Hammond keyboard player. Steve had played in many of Auckland's top blues and tribute bands. He is very professional, pays great attention detail and is in constant demand and anchors the rhythm section for Taiapa Road.
Drums
Logan is our youngest member. He is an up and coming drumming talent. Still at High School, Logan plays well beyond his years. Logan’s first audition for Taiapa Road was eye popping. Logan’s ability to reproduce the very complex rhythm sequences perfectly amazed the band. Taiapa Road’s set list is demanding and we guarantee Logan’s performance will leave audiences speechless and cheering for more. Logan is following in the footsteps of many of the great drummers in many other music genres.
Percussion
Richard, is our full-time professional musician, drum teacher and percussionist. Richard helps to perform our rhythm section into a powerhouse tight unit. Ricard is a great lover of blues and brings all his experience to the band.
Vocals / Synths/ Keys / Programming
Mark, joins Taiapa Road Soul Band and brings a wealth of recording and arranging experience to help bring depth on keyboards and with backing vocals. Mark’s musical tastes are wide, and he loves creating authentic performances on keyboards, horn section and Hammond organ.
