Takapoto Estate Show Jumping is a 2-week event for all ages showcasing the best of New Zealand's riders in an incredible facility backing onto Lake Karapiro. The event aims to bring a taste of European show jumping to New Zealand shores. As well as New Zealand riders we also have riders flying over from Australia and France.

Entry during the week is free and no tickets are required. General admission passes are available for the general public on Saturday and Sunday each weekend. Children under 10 are free every day except the VIP lunch.

Food trucks and a public bar are available during the day on site.

Saturday 23rd February – Young Horse Finals Lunch 11.00 – 5.00 pm
Join us for a day of watching the next generation of future champions compete. You’ll see New Zealand’s best young rising stars competing with their horses aged 4-7 years in their respective finals. The format is similar to that of the German Bundeschampionat, allowing horses at a young age to gain experience in a Championship setting.
Four and Five year olds
To qualify for the finals the horses are judged on style. Once in the final, the four and five-year olds are judged on style.
Six and Seven year olds
This differs for the six and seven-year-olds, however, they will face-off in a regular jump-off class to decide their final placings.
Food: A delicious catered lunch and afternoon tea will be provided in the picturesque and stylish Bellevue Arena Main marquee.
The programme will be as follows:
- 11.00-11.45pm 4yo Tour Final 1m
- 12.30- 1.30pm 5yo Tour Final 1.10m
- 2.30- 3.30pm 6yo Tour Final 1.20m
- 4.15- 5.15pm 7yo Tour Final 1.30m

$100 per ticket. This includes a delicious catered lunch and afternoon tea + cash bar.

Sunday 24th February – Harney & Sons High Tea 11.00 – 3.00pm
Week 1 ends with the Harney & Sons High Tea event, to be enjoyed while watching the exhilarating Silver Tour Final jump-off and prestigious Gold Tour Grand Prix Final.
A delicious catered High Tea will be provided in the stunning Bellevue Arena Main marquee.
The programme will be as follows:
- 9.00- 11.30am Silver Tour Final 1.35m
- 12.30 -3.00pm Gold Tour Final 1.45m

$60 per ticket. This includes a catered High Tea, tea and coffee + cash bar.

Saturday 2nd March – APL Cocktail Function 6.00 – 10.30pm
Come enjoy the glitz and glamor of the most highly anticipated equestrian cocktail party of the summer. Located in the stunning and luxurious Bellevue Arena marquee, entertainment for the night will include the horse six bar competition at 6.30pm, a packed dance floor, and a DJ spinning all your favourite songs late into the evening.
Last year the APL cocktail function was a sell-out, so don’t delay, make sure you snap-up your tickets quick!

$100 per ticket includes small bowls and a complimentary drink on arrival + cash bar

Sunday 3rd March – Corporate Hosting Sunday VIP 10.30 – 3pm
The pinnacle event of the two-week show is the VIP Grand Prix Day in the stylish and luxurious Bellevue Main Arena marquee. Join us to watch the end of the thrilling Anne Symes Memorial Derby Class to enjoy show jumping with a difference. This unique event features show jumping mixed with some cross-country terrain and elements. Then it’s a trans-Tasman showdown to take out the Takapoto’s crowning event - the Gold Cup Grand Prix, with the shows’ elite riders battling it out over gruelling 1.50m jumps.
The programme will be as follows:
- 10.30- 12.00am Anne Symes Memorial Derby 1.30m
- 1.00- 2.30pm Gold Tour Final 1.50m
$180 per ticket Lunch included + cash bar
