Did you know you’re being manipulated by your phone, online apps and websites? How is it that you can Google something and then get bombarded by related ads and links?! Is your digital device controlling your life? Find out how technology can be made to work for you, not against you.

Are you confused, or concerned, by what the Internet and technologies can do or what the digital future holds for you or your kids? Do you feel like your phone, other digital devices and apps are controlling you - instead of the other way round? This course can help you change that as you learn tools and tactics, develop new habits (and ditch old ones!), and take control of the digital products and services* in your life.

By the end of the course, you’ll be able to:
- Use digital technologies in a way that works for you
- Begin to develop new habits around your usage of digital technologies
- Practise effective self-observation in relation to digital technologies
- Recognise the tactics and structures of technology companies and systems
- Demonstrate an improved ability to critically question and engage with new technologies as they emerge

Through a mix of lectures, in-class exercises, digital dilemma discussions, and some homework, you’ll take stock of your digital life and actively work through how you want to use digital products and services.

Practical guidance is combined with scene-setting lectures to help you better navigate the digital world and make informed decisions and make informed decisions, improving your digital wellness. *This could include social media, personal devices, and anything else ‘digital’ which you wish to investigate or build new habits around.

Bring your phone or laptop, if you have one, plus pen and paper.
