Te Manawa - The Heart - Floral Art Exhibition.

‘Te Manawa’ is the theme for the national Floral Art Exhibition showcasing the art of designing with plant material and other components.

Over 130 floral art designs created by our talented members will be on display. The highlight will be designs created for the prestigious award of ‘NZ National Designer of the Year’. To be eligible to enter each designer had to win the competition in their Area. They are the top designers in New Zealand competing for this award.

There will be six other competitive sections made up of a variety of designs and styles. From small petite designs with the title of ‘Romance’, to large designs staged from the floor with unlimited height titled ‘Love is Only Natures Art’. A section for new designers will be showing their talent, titled ’Centre of Intention’.

‘Kiwi Heartland’ is the title for creative cornucopias which have an abundance of flowers, foliage and produce. Techniques will require skill and craftmanship with the title ‘Arrhythmia’ and designs to be ‘looked into’ with the title ‘Set you heart on...’ will provide intrigue and wonder on how they have been created.

Throughout the public access ways will be a display of non-competitive designs. Some of these will be hanging and/or staged from the floor. Titles will vary from ‘Love is in the Air’ or ‘I left my heart in…’

Te Manawa Floral Art Exhibition is a not to be missed. It provides the opportunity to see the diversity and creativity of floral art and viewers will come away with a new perspective. It is not flower arranging or floristry. It is an ‘art form’ in its own right.
