Ask an expert
Ask our scientists your backyard bug related questions during ‘ask an expert’ sessions. Get up close and personal with critters you might find in your backyard, and bring along your own critters to ask our experts about!
If you’re bringing a critter to show our scientists, make sure they’re in a sealed container with something to snack on. Snails and slugs love breathing holes, a moist chunk of cotton and a piece of over-ripe cabbage, kale or similar. Breathing holes are optional for things like insects and spiders as they can survive in a container for a day or two.
Where: Backyard | Te Papa Hui, Level 2
When: Sessions 11am-12.30 & 1.30pm-3pm
