A panel of three Mandarin Language Assistants and three secondary school students who are currently studying Chinese discuss their experiences and hopes in learning the language. Mandarin Language Assistants (MLA) are all from China, sponsored by the Confucius Institute and are employed in schools throughout New Zealand. An event for Chinese Language Week.
The three Chinese language week events at the National Library of New Zealand have been jointly organised by Wellington City Libraries and the National Library of New Zealand.
Speakers: Mandarin Language Assistants LIN Lili from Wellington Girls’ College, GU Yu from Wellington East Girls’ College and YU Yirong (MLA) from Thorndon School, with secondary school students Lesieli Katoa and Sophia Hatzilamprou (Wellington East Girls’ College), and Ella Haszard from Wellington Girls’ College.
