We are proud to invite you to New Zealand's biggest TEDxYouth event: TEDxYouth@Christchurch.

TEDxChristchurch and TEDxYouth@Christchurch have joined forces to bring you an entire weekend of TEDx celebrations from 24-25 August, at a place very special to us: The Christchurch Town Hall.

TEDxYouth@Christchurch is on Saturday, 24 August. This event is specifically produced for youth, by youth. If you'll be 25 or younger on 24 August, grab your ticket and get ready to be inspired, intrigued, and challenged by the stunning speaker lineup the team has carefully curated over the past year. It's brought to you by the same team who brought you TEDxYouth@AvonRiver event last year, and features a half-day event at the James Hay Theatre.

Already announced TEDxYouth@Christchurch speakers include:
- Comedian and poet Ray Shipley (our event MC!)
- Technology prodigy Miles Lifton
- Artist and Photographer Aurelia Torkington
- Orator Takunda Muzondiwa
- Crimson Education Co-founder & CEO Jamie Beaton
- Recovered Living Founder Kirstie Amadio
- Genetic engineering researcher Anna Clark

More speakers are being announced every week!

On this page, people who will be 25 or under as of 24 August can get tickets to TEDxYouth@Christchurch.

TEDxChristchurch is on Sunday, 25 August. It's for everyone and, after two years of more intimate events, we're going BIG. Join us—and 1,700 of our closest friends—for a full-day event in the Douglas Lilburn Auditorium. It'll be a jam-packed ride with insightful and inspiring speakers, a delectable menu of local food, and of course, the famous red dot. For more info on TEDxChristchurch, head to www.tedxchristchurch.com

Attendees for either event get exclusive access to limited edition merchandise, special accommodation rates, and extra activities! Don't delay in securing your seat at our biggest event yet.

TEDxChristchurch, TEDxYouth@Christchurch, and all TEDx events are run on a non-moneymaking basis.

About TEDx
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our events are called TEDxChristchurch and TEDxYouth@Christchurch, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxChristchurch and TEDxYouth@Christchurch events, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.

About TED
TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. Started as a four-day conference in California in 1984, TED has grown to support those world-changing ideas with multiple initiatives. The annual TED Conference invites the world’s leading thinkers and doers to speak for 18 minutes. Their talks are then made available, free, at TED.com. TED speakers have included Bill Gates, Al Gore, Jane Goodall, Elizabeth Gilbert, Sir Richard Branson, Nandan Nilekani, Philippe Starck, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Isabel Allende and UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown.

The annual TED Conference takes place in Long Beach, California, with simulcast in Palm Springs; TEDGlobal is held each year in Oxford, UK. TED’s media initiatives include TED.com, where new TEDTalks are posted daily, and the Open Translation Project, which provides subtitles and interactive transcripts as well as the ability for any TEDTalk to be translated by volunteers worldwide.

TED has established the annual TED Prize, where exceptional individuals with a wish to change the world are given the opportunity to put their wishes into action; TEDx, which offers individuals or groups a way to host local, self-organized events around the world, and the TEDFellows program, helping world-changing innovators from around the globe to become part of the TED community and, with its help, amplify the impact of their remarkable projects and activities.
