The All Girl Big Band, formed in Christchurch January 2016, was brought about after a conversation between Lana Law and Kate Taylor at the and "Doug Caldwall Tribute Concert".
Out of the creative influence and the Musical Direction of Lana Law and the stunning vocals of Kate Taylor, the All Girl Big Band emerged. The All Girl Big Band debuted at In The Loop at the Court Theatre as part of their 'Hidden Artist' segment. Since then they have had stunning success with gigs for Jazz After Work, The Swingtown Rebels and the Big Band Festival where they presented a "Tribute to Natalie Cole".
The band consists of any array of talented musicians - the majority are professional musicians or music teachers in Christchurch. They are lucky enough to have wide range of ages too, from high school student's age to the most mature member at 77, who took up the trombone in her late 40's.
This is a unique band and are they very excited to play for you all.
