The Essential 21st Century Skill
Rewire your brain for a lifetime of learning

Join us for an engaging and interactive session where we will examine and dissect 21st Century capabilities (critical thinking, creativity, collaboration and more) and explore why they are so difficult - in fact potentially impossible - to teach. From there we'll explore the only truly future-proof life capability there is: the thirst for learning, why it’s so important and how to access and enhance your own and your organisations’ appetite and ability to learn.

Drinks, nibbles and networking from 5:30pm, keynote starts at 6pm sharp.

Project Connect presents Dr. Jared Cooney Horvath (USA). Dr Cooney Horvath (Phd, MEd) is a neuroscientist, educator, and author of the new book Stop Talking, Start Influencing: 12 Insights from Brain Science to Make Your Message Stick.

Jared has published 5 books, over 30 research articles, and currently serves as an honorary researcher at the University of Melbourne and St. Vincent's Hospital in Melbourne. His research has been featured in popular publications including The New York Times, WIRED, BBC, The Economist, PBS's Nova and ABC’s Catalyst. Jared has conducted research and lectured at Harvard University, Harvard Medical School, the University of Southern California, and the University of Melbourne and has taught at schools around the United States and Australia.

Currently, Jared is undertaking research in collaboration with the Science of Learning Research Centre at the Melbourne Graduate School of Education and serves as co-president of The Science of Learning Group and The Education Neuroscience Initiative: two groups dedicated to bringing the latest in brain and behavioural research to the world.
