Album update:

So far, things are starting to come together. Most of the harmonies are done, all lead vocals are laid down...full band tracks are close to finished too! Hilary has gotten a chance to revisit her 4 part harmony days...adding a choir of vocals backing a few key moments in the songs!

Pushing boundaries has been our focus this time around. After 3 albums in the can...we wanted to take our musicianship and songwriting to a new places. This album will for sure be consistent with our sound coming through loud and clear...but we are excited to share some of these new songs with you!

Why Go to New Zealand?

Hilary Claire Adamson of Texas meet Hilary Claire Adamson of New Zealand!

We are about to head to New Zealand for the first time...and the question has come up a lot lately! Here's the truth of it...last summer we shared stories behind our tours to Scotland and Switzerland. Both these places are on Stuart's lifetime list of places to go. After those wonderful adventures, Stuart asked Hilary about where she wanted to go...and this trip is inspired by her love of hiking and nature...as well as a surprising NZ connection!

When I first signed up on FB 10 years ago, I searched my name "Hilary Claire Adamson" and low and behold there was only one other one out there with my exact name! Turns out we are about the same age, both blonde, and I messaged her to introduce myself!

Well, this fall we made a wonderful new friend John Egnes...an US musician that now resides in New Zealand. He saw us perform at the South West Regional Folk Alliance Conference and mentioned that if we ever were headed to New Zealand to let him know. Well we did...and this led to that...and here we are!!!

Here's some comments on The Flyin' A's performances.

"This charisma laden duo grabs ya by the neck and slaps you silly for short bursts of fun! Hillary Claire Adamson exudes enough “pizzaz” to heat a building and her low key cool hubby Stuart compliments so well. Their latest album,”You Drive Me Crazy”, is chocked full of goodies like “Little Miss Tumbleweed”, “I Won’t Stop Loving You” and “Mr. Blue”. On top of that it was announced that this killer couple has joined the already strong board of Folk Alliance. They’ve been behind the scenes helping at seminars for years and it will be a major plus having them on the Dalis team! The song “We Won’t Back Down” personifies the upbeat wonderful attitude these two carry with them always."

"If there was YELP! just for touring musicians, The Fyin’ A’s would get my FIVE STAR review. From start to finish, this class act was a joy and a pleasure to book, market, and present at our thriving house concert series. Hilary Claire Adamson is a great communicator, and we nailed down details for the show early thanks to her professionalism and attention to every detail. And with her partner in life, business, and music, Stuart Adamson, they put on a superb show that delighted our discerning audience. Whether dueting on their shared songs, or soloing on vocals or guitar, The Flyin’ A’s utilize their extensive touring schedule to hone a sound that bridges Texas and Colorado, East Coast and West, Americana and the influences of many trips across the pond, to deliver a tight set of songs that span touching to hilarious, quiet to raucous, and personal to connecting with a diverse fan base. Catch them if you can, and be sure to check out the recorded gems by this outstanding husband-and-wife duo."
