Enter the world of radio – and a bygone era when the radio was the only connection to the outside world and the main source of entertainment. In the Small Gallery you will find a small collection of radios dating from the 1930’s to 1950’s, not only as a reminder of how radios looked in those days, but how life was so different to today.
This exhibition has been organised by local enthusiast Ray Olsen, who discovered his passion for radio as an apprentice in the radio trade in Hastings, in the late 1940’s. He now spends his retirement collecting and repairing vintage radios.
Ray regularly meets with a group of local radio enthusiasts, who have kindly loaned radios for the display. Join Ray and the group to celebrate the opening of their exhibition on Friday 26 April, 5-7pm. All welcome!
