‘This is Northland – Home of the Kauri’ - an exploration of our beautiful region where kauri once covered the land.

The Kauri Museum Northland Photography Awards is a social media based photography competition managed by The Kauri Museum, Matakohe.

There are two categories for school students and an Open category. Entries open on Monday 15 July 2019 and close at 5.00pm Monday 12 August 2019.

All entries will be judged by a panel of two judges who will select finalists from each of the three competition categories.

Running in conjunction with competition in the three categories, will be The Tudor Collins Award for People’s Choice. This award will be determined by the amount of facebook likes and shares a photo receives when posted on the Kauri Museum facebook page.

Three prizes will be awarded in each category, with one prize for the People’s Choice winner and an award to the school with the highest number of student entries.

All entrants must reside in the Northland region; in the area extending as far south as Warkworth. Warkworth residents include those living within the township and/or covered by Warkworth rural ail delivery.

The Competition is for the best photograph in each category. Finalists will be selected from each category at the judge’s discretion. Prizes will be awarded for first, second and highly commended. The theme for the competition, across all categories is, ‘This is Northland – Home of the Kauri’ - an exploration of our beautiful region where kauri once covered the land.

Students $10.00 each additional entry $5.00 to a max of 3
Open - $15.00 each additional entry $10.00 to a max of 3
