In this HeritageTalk, Max Cryer MBE (TV producer and presenter, radio broadcaster, entertainment producer, singer, cabaret performer and writer) discusses New Zealanders and the English language.

Max Cryer examines the somewhat casual relationship New Zealanders have with the English language. The average Kiwi knows little about the structure of the language most commonly spoken in Aotearoa - but Max does know.

He illuminates the scene by light-heartedly examining formidable-sounding local language by-ways such as metathesis and hypochorism styles which many New Zealanders didn’t know they used.
