Kia Ora Rotorua! Exciting news, the Rotorua Lifewise Big Sleepout is coming up on Thursday 5th September 2019 at the Pukuatua Street Carpark Building.
For one night, community leaders, business leaders and members of the community will come together and experience what it’s like sleeping rough, getting a taste of life on the streets and raising critical funds to prevent homelessness. The Big Sleepout is Lifewise’s annual flagship fundraising event. The event is also a key opportunity to raise awareness of homelessness in our communities as well as at a national level.
In previous years Rotorua participants have managed to raise up to $36,000! The event is a chance for hardworking groups and individuals to raise awareness about homelessness and continue to help some of the most vulnerable Kiwis in Rotorua.
Apart from experiencing what it’s like to sleep rough on cold hard concrete, participants of the Lifewise Big Sleepout also have the opportunity to meet with inspiring people who have survived and escaped homelessness, whilst gaining a strong sense of community by putting in the mahi to support their own.
