The Official NZ Music Month Summit makes a welcome return to the Herald Theatre this May. Celebrating our remarkable performing artists and venues, the theme for NZ Music Month 2019 is Discover Live – focused on New Zealanders discovering their new favourite homegrown live act, and supporting the local live music scene across the country.
Supporting the kaupapa, this year the event will be the Official NZ Music Month Summit: Discover Live, featuring an impressive line-up of panellists discussing the most exciting aspect of the music industry – live performance.
The speakers are artists Tami Neilson, Julia Deans, Laughton Kora, Matt Harvey and Mel Parsons; Chris Tate from College Hill Productions, Tom Anderson from Whammy Bar, Carol Harding - Stage Management & Production, Harry Pettit from Birds Nest, Gavin Downie from Auckland Council Music In Parks, Rachel Turney, Co-Director of Homegrown, Hamish Pinkham from Rhythm & Vines, Gerry Paul - Coastella, and Anna Loveys from Saint Lachine.
Topics will include a Q&A with Festival Bookers, Looking After Yourself On The Road, Marketing & Promoting Live Shows, and Production Tips Of The Trade.
With special thanks to our friends at APRA AMCOS, lunch will be provided to the first 100 people who register for the Official NZ Music Month Summit.
There will be an opportunity to ask APRA representatives questions during the lunch break, with meal catering by the initiative Eat My Lunch which provides food for hungry kiwi kids.
