“It’s Magical” - A Glittering Showcase of Young Talent.

The National Youth Theatre Company presents “The Wizard of Oz”, an enchanting musical drawn from the all-time classic MGM screenplay that celebrates its 80th birthday this year. With all the much-loved characters and iconic moments from the movie, and beloved songs like “Somewhere Over The Rainbow”, “We’re Off to See The Wizard” and “If I Only Had A Brain” from the Oscar®-winning movie score, this is a perfect event for the whole family to enjoy.

Come and join Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tinman, the Cowardly Lion and of course, Toto, as they travel the universe of Dorothy’s imagination, bringing to life talking trees, flying monkeys, the wonderful Wizard, Glinda the Good Witch and the dastardly menacing Wicked Witch of the West!

Featuring a cast of over 250 of the finest young performers from all over the Auckland region and a rocking live band, The Wizard of Oz delivers a magical night out for the whole family, in a not-to-be missed, musical about family, home and never giving up!

With a strictly limited season of just 4 public performances, don’t miss this opportunity to join Dorothy and her friends as they follow the yellow brick road.

The Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum has been brilliantly adapted by John Kane from the motion picture screenplay for the Royal Shakespeare Company. With music and lyrics from the MGM motion picture score by Academy award winners Harold Arlen and E.Y. Harburg.
