No Sudden Movements - A Night of Therapy

Dates

  • Thu 1 Aug 2019, 8:00pm

Restrictions

R18

We have curated this very "special" line-up of misfits for the purpose of "helping" you, to tap into your deepest darkest stuff, man.

The night will progress from anguish and pain (Julian Alexander Terris), through to the contemplation of the complexities of your own existence (Adoneye), then into rage and expression of emotion (On The Ledge), and finally to be lifted up into celebration, love and light!! (No Sudden Movements).

Bean bags and blankets may be provided, along with tissues and plenty of hugs. Colouring-in books and jelly beans might also be there to help you self-care. All you need to bring along is your own messed up, twisted self, and we will proceed to break you open, put you in touch with your feelings, and then love you back to wholeness again, and send you on your way.

About the acts:
To kick the evening off, local legend Julian Terris debuts cuts from his forthcoming album: Modern Myths.

Followed by Adoneye, a 3 piece rock band from the Wellington region. Sounds like a ram wrapped in thermogen and a bunch of beautiful aliens. I can't say enough about the depth of Dean's songwriting, you simply have to come and experience it.

Next up are On The Ledge, a 4 piece heavy rock band hailing from Palmerston North. Originally formed in 2012, they were a covers band playing the local Manawatu pub scene, who soon moved into writing their own music. They can be sweet and acoustic or heavy and electric.

With tasty guitar solos, meaty bass licks, heavy drum tones, a dash of screamo and strong melodic female vocals to top it all off, they have Hard Rock, Pop Punk, Grunge and a touch of Metal running through their veins. On The Ledge are ready to enchant you while simultaneously melting your face off with their one-of-a-kind sound.

And then finally, the exciting and brand-spanking new Wellington 4 piece band No Sudden Movements top the night off with their uplifting and catchy rock pop tunes. Capturing the urban-bohemian feel of their hometown, NSM blend elements of folk, rock, dub and punk to create some really inspiring and creative new music. Definitely up-and-coming and with huge potential, you don't want to miss this one!

A night of fantastic original music, for $10 this is the best therapy money can buy.

Doors open at 7.30pm, first act starts at 8pm sharp.

See you there! We know you need it...
